Timothée Chalamet Is The Son of Edward Scissorhands

No, Edward Scissorhands, is not finally getting a sequel, but this Super Bowl spot for Cadillac is pretty close! Timothée Chalamet (Call Me by Your Name) plays the part of Edward Scissorhands’ son in the ad, which also features Winona Ryder, reprising her role as Kim.

The 1:30ish ad is running during the Super Bowl today and as always has leaked out online for your viewing pleasure. Original Edward Scissorhands director Tim Burton, while not involved in the production of the spot, sounded off on the return of Scissors to, er, hands.

“It’s rare when a work you’re proud of continues to live on and evolve with the times, even after 30 years,” said Burton, in a statement. Burton approves of the spot’s take on his iconic property. “I’m glad to see Edgar coping with the new world! I hope both fans and those being introduced to Edward Scissorhands for the first time enjoy it.”
